Get involved in the future of OpenTechCalendar

The transfer of OpenTechCalendar to the stewardship of Sheffield Digital has now been done. The site is now hosted on Amazon’s AWS infrastructure, giving us the advantages of their resilience and providing the ability to increase the size/number of servers to meet any increase in demand.

We are committed to OpenTechCalendar remaining open. Not just by keeping the code open source and the data free to access and edit, but also by being open in its future development. We want to make sure that the people who use it, and those who could use it in future, are able to guide its development.

We’re currently deciding on the best tools to use to make it as easy as possible for people to get involved, and will be writing a follow up post about this very soon. If you want to be part of that, whether you have an idea for a useful new feature, or if you have coding or design skills and want to help out, or maybe you’d like to take the code and apply it to a different (non-tech) meetup community. Please get in touch – https://opentechcalendar.co.uk/contact.
